Several issues had been discussed, such as the ongoing program of Student’s Workshop/Exhibition „Understanding Urban Informality“, future plans for academic engagements, including joint research, world-class professor program and possibility of jointly-supervised PhD program between the two institutions. The exhibition is a part of student workshop, and will be officially commenced on Monday, 14 May 2018 in the Wilkinson Building FADP University of Sydney.
Prof. Redmond and Prof. Martokusumo agreed to continue the current academic cooperation, which have mutually been started more than four years ago, and both look forward to developing and scaling up the cooperation into further levels. Thanks to all supports from both sides, Dr. Jones and Dr. Maryati have constantly managed to keep the joint programs and workshops running. These collaborative programs have been acknowledged by the two parties as mutually beneficial and have given significant contributions and enrichments for all the students to broaden their views and develop critical understanding in particular on notion of informality as part of current urbanization and urban development realities in Indonesia. Furthermore, given the opportunity of getting international exposures, in which different ideology, political and cultural settings had been introduced to the students, the collaborative program will surely enhance the ability of both students to understand and accept the differences.
