Widjaja Martokusumo

Research interest: Architectural and urban design; urban conservation and revitalization
Widjaja Martokusumo  (1966) was graduated in 1991 from the Department of Architecture, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), and in 1999 was awarded a Doktor-Ingenieur (Dr.-Ing.) degree in urban planning and design from the Fachbereich Stadt- & Landschaftsplanung, Universität Gesamthochschule Kassel, Germany. He is also the chairman of Architectural Design Research Group. Since 2014 he is a professor in architecture and urban heritage conservation, and currently is the dean of School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development ITB.Professor Widjaja Martokusumo teaches architectural and urban design, urban heritage conservation, and his main research fields are architectural design and urban heritage conservation in Indonesia. Through his teaching, research and professional engagements, he has contributed extensively to the study of architectural conservation, urban heritage conservation, and urban design in Indonesia. He was a visiting assistant professor and lecturer at the Fakultät Architektur, Fachhochschule Erfurt in Winter Semester 2008/2009, and he is currently a recipient of MAVF (Melbourne-Asia Visiting Fellowship) Program 2015-2016 at the Melbourne School of Design, Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Building, University of Melbourne.
