Bandung City, August 21, 2026 — Nurrohman Wijaya, Ph.D., a lecturer at the School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development (SAPPK) ITB, served as an assessor in the competency assessment for the Junior Regional and Urban Spatial Planner (Fresh Graduate) scheme. The assessment was held at the Competency Assessment Centre (TUK) on the third floor of the CCAR Building in Taman Sari, Bandung City. It was organized by the Institut Teknologi Bandung Professional Certification Institute (LSP ITB).
LSP ITB is an internal professional certification body at ITB that conducts competency assessments and issues certifications under the authorization of the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). As a First-Party Professional Certification Institute (LSP P1), LSP ITB provides competency certification for students, graduates, and professionals to strengthen their readiness and competitiveness in the workplace. Its certification schemes are aligned with the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) and cover various fields, including science and technology, design and creative industries, and business and management.
One of the certification schemes offered by LSP ITB is the Junior Regional and Urban Spatial Planner (Fresh Graduate) scheme. The programme is intended for recent graduates of Regional and Urban Planning who seek formal recognition of their professional competencies despite having limited or no prior work experience. Through this assessment, eligible graduates can pursue a Level 7 Work Competency Certificate (SKK) recognized by BNSP.
The assessment evaluates candidates against relevant SKKNI competency units, covering both professional and technical capabilities. These include occupational health and safety (SMK3), professional ethics, survey and data collection, data compilation, spatial analysis, and the preparation of technical spatial planning documents. The scheme is specifically designed to accommodate fresh graduates, with no minimum work-experience requirement. Applicants are generally required to provide basic supporting documents, including a national identity card (KTP), diploma, academic transcript, and a portfolio demonstrating relevant academic work, such as a final project or planning studio project. These requirements allow candidates to demonstrate competencies developed through their academic training.
Through its competency certification programmes, LSP ITB contributes to strengthening graduates’ professional readiness and to providing nationally recognized evidence of competence. Registration for LSP ITB competency certification is open periodically throughout the year, in accordance with the applicable assessment schedule.
