Ecology for Landscape architecture
AL5201 | 3 SKS / Unit of Credit
This course studies ecological principles and their application for landscape design. The content covers key ecological concepts (trophic levels, food chain and network, energy follow, material cycle); important abiotic and biotic factors affecting distribution and abundance of species (climate, landform, demography, competition & exploitation); characteristics of major terrestial and aquatic ecosystems of Indonesia; ecosystem dynamics (disturbance & succession); landscape structure (patch, corridor and mosaic); application of ecological structures for landscape design.
Students will be able to use ecological principles to design landscapes that is optimized for benefit of humans and the environment.
