FOUNDATION WORKSHOP ON PARAMETRIC MODELING
In Elements of Parametric Design (Routledge, 2010), Robert Woodbury summarized new skills held by those who know and use parametric tools for the design process, three of those are:

1. Conceiving data flow
2. Dividing to conquer
3. Thinking with abstraction

Those three are fundamental and represent a change of design paradigm and strategy to solve design problems based on the digital data.

This introductory workshop is for those architecture or design students who need to learn computational design, starting with parametric modeling and geometric computation. Logic and algorithm will be the focus of this workshop, where thinking with abstraction and geometric re-creation will be delivered through comprehension of concept, principles, and computing theory followed by exercise and case study.

Participants are expected to have a deep understanding of parametric modeling’s fundamental concepts and principles as the foundation of the computational design method.

This workshop will be delivered in Bahasa Indonesia.

CREDIT EARNING
This workshop is part of ITB program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM/Free Learning Free Campus) and opens the opportunity for final-year bachelor and master degree students  of ITB to earn 2 credit units by joining this course.

STRUCTURE
The Inclusive Workshop is structured as a full online workshop comprising lectures , computer labs, discussion and virtual exhibition.

SCHEDULE AND CAPACITY
SAPPD International Virtual Course-Summer School 2021 is held from June 27 to July 3, 2021. Maximum number of participating students on Zoom: 25.
