This introductory course gives an understanding of tourism destinations by considering it as a system and analyze their elements. The lectures begin with definitions of tourism system and its implications for understanding tourism destinations. Later, the various approaches to categorize tourism destinations are explained to understand the typology of tourism destinations. The system offered by tourism destinations has 3 components: tourism product and supply, tourism demand, intermediaries, and provides an introduction to manage the sustainable tourism destinations. |

Tourism Destination Marketing |
This lecture explains the meaning of tourism destinations, and the characteristics of its components, as well as the concepts, the fundamentals and the stages in the marketing planning of tourism destinations as a whole. Analysis of the situation described to determine the competitive advantage of a destination including an understanding of the characteristics of market segments separately and then formulate positioning target tourism market and tourism destinations. Mix strategy which consist of product strategy, distribution strategy, pricing strategy and promotional strategy will be described in order to understand more fully the steps in the marketing of tourism destinations. |
