On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, a Guest Lecture was held with Dr. Michaela Prescott from Monash University in the PPAR room, 1st Floor, Labtek IXB.
Dr. Michaela Prescott is a Landscape Architect, Senior Research Fellow, and Senior Lecturer at Monash University’s Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture. Her research focuses on sustainable urban development, participatory planning, and the socio-cultural dimensions of landscapes, particularly in relation to water and infrastructure systems.
A founding member of the Monash Informal Cities Lab, Michaela leads interdisciplinary work on projects such as Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environments (RISE) and the Citarum Action Research Program (CARP). She collaborates closely with engineers, hydrologists, planners, public health professionals, and biologists to support community and government partners in building urban resilience.
With experience across Australia, Singapore, and Europe, Michaela’s work bridges research and practice to advance more equitable and sustainable cities.
