Brief Syllabus
AR5190 Studio I This course trains the ability to understand the terms of reference can then develop proposals for good architecture is a response to a frame of reference. This course also trains designing buildings / building a collection that put an emphasis on urban and landscape aspects. Begins with understanding the urban aspects of the standards and rules that bekaitan especially with the culture, climate, and landscape movement, so as to prepare the concept design, pre-design and expand it up.
AR 5290 Studio II This course trains the ability to identify a particular theme or issue and reduce the parameters of the themes and issues. Students will be faced with a design problem in which students are asked to explore, identify and formulate a specific theme. This course also trains designing buildings / building a collection that put an emphasis on value-added design on the environment and human and has a novelty in the design aspect
AR 5141 Research Methodology This course discusses the methodology of qualitative and quantitative research, develop basic skills in conducting research, as well as discuss the relationship between research and design
AR5213 Architectural Theory and Criticism This course provides incisive knowledge on mainstream contemporary architectural theories, alternative critical perspectives, and methods to support student’s proficiency in criticism of architecture and built environment.
AR 5241 Housing and city This lecture discusses the development of the design problems of housing as part of a spatial system of urban planning. Lecture emphasis on residential design concepts and their application in terms of solving problems of urban planning both in developed and in developing countries.
AR6151 Architecture, Development and Culture of Indonesia This lecture discusses the architecture as a form of action development site, which is responsive to the culture and the creation of culture. Culture is seen as the process of community, in relation to the use and utilization of space and architecture roles as facilitators discussed culture and community as agents of change.
AR5150 Tematic Research I Theoretical study of important cases in the architecture and the built environment, which is implemented in the form of:

  • Implementation of the conceptual architectural design and the built environment, which is selected according to field area.
  • Research based on precedent and secondary sources with the topic chosen according to scientific field area.
AR5250 Tematic Research I I Provide learning in the formulation of research problems from concentration of research topics, the implementation of simple research, and preparation of research problems for thesis proposal.
AR5142 Data Analysis This course provides introductory data analysis methods frequently used in the study of architecture. The course deliver the concept of each analysis and examples of its application in the study of architecture. Students are expected to know the options analysis methods that can be used, and has a provision for independent study specific analysis methods that are directly will be used in their thesis research.
AR6242 Built Environment Development Project Outlines and discusses the types of development projects, both public and private organized sector, which is related to the built environment (residential, residential, urban, rural)
AR5242 Built Environment Analysis Some methods used to determine the growth and development of the settlements, the quality of housing, the level of integration and segregation of neighborhoods, housing needs and demand.
AR6142 Design in the context of transformation This course introduces the potential and the impact of environmental changes brought about by the settlement of a development plan and design of a place to be decided by the actor or actors of the housing and settlement development based on market forces and or formal development plan.
AR6131 World Contemporary Architecture This course provide students with introductoray knowledge about the development of various movements in architecture as modes of cultural production that extensively related to the dominat paradigm, epistemological concepts, spirit of time, and political conditions of the society.
AR5231 Vernacular Architecture of Indonesia This course provides the students with comprehension on theoretical and methodological framework of vernacular architectural tradition, and knowledge on repertoire of vernacular architecture traditions in Indonesia.
AR6223 Project Economic Development This study looks at the economic aspects of project development and trains some skill involved in the project development
AR6121 Bamboo Building Technology This course is aimed to give an overview for the students about bamboo as building material in all aspects and forms, the basic principles of bamboo construction, not only in the form of bamboo pole, but also other bamboo based material.
AR5121 Architectur amd Technology On this subject, the architecture as a product of technology, where innovations and technological developments could raises a new architecture
AR5122 Digital Architecture This course aims to present insight and integrative knowledge on the theory of computation on architectural design process, understanding on software workflows ranged from form generator software to rapid prototyping.
AR6095 Independent Studies This course provides knowledge for students in the thesis plan and in conducting a study to explore the knowledge required in preparing the thesis
AR6112 Local Culture on Architectural Design This course contains a set of knowledge about local culture development through architectural design, that is delivered through four main issues: local culture as competitive potential, design roles in cultural product transformation, local culture based design approaches, and cases study.
AR 5212 Professional Ethics This course discusses the various aspects of the profession, especially regarding the ethics of architects, and the law relating to the profession by studying cases that ever existed or that may occur related to professionalism architect
AR5211 Facility Programming At this lecture introduced thinks ‘Master Planning’ in architectural design. Students are expected to be aware of the limitations and constraints specific goals, comprehensive, and continuing to be met in the design process that was developed from a main activity.
