Dr. Ir. Oswar Muadzin Mungkasa, MURP delivered a lecture in ITB

On Friday, 8 February 2019, Urban and Regional Planning Study Program of ITB Campus in Cirebon conducted a meeting of the start of semester II 2018/2019 for the 2018 Common First Year Program in Jatinangor. The lecture that started at 14:00 and ended at 16:00 was attended by the 2018 Common First Year Program students, Guardian lecturers and Head of the Undergraduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning, Ridwan Sutriadi, ST, MT, Ph.D.
The guest lecture is Dr. Ir. Oswar Muadzin Mungkasa, MURP, alumni of ITB Urban and Regional Planning Study Program (Planologi) class of 1981, who started his career in BAPPENAS, Ministry of Public Housing, and currently is Deputy Governor of Jakarta Special Region for Spatial Planning and Environment. In his presentation Dr. Mungkasa presented the shifts of urban and regional science from the era of 1980s to the current millennial which is marked with the help of technology. He further explained that in this millennial era, collaborative approach is important unlike the previous era that oriented only on physical aspect and top-down in nature. Nowadays, collaborative approach with the help of technology is not only limited on planning context, but it has to go out of the “walking in silo” phenomenon. The Special Region of Jakarta has introduced collaborative concept with the “grand design” concept. In addition, the speaker also described the importance of “commitment” and “consensus” in planning, a practice that is done in Jakarta.
