On Monday, June 23, 2025, the Dean of SAPPK, Dr. Eng. Puspita Dirgayani, and Dr. Donny Koerniawan, a lecturer from SAPPK, welcomed Prof. Wanga Zuo and his team from Pennsylvania State University.

This honorary visit continues the research collaboration that has taken place over the past five years between Dr. Donny Koerniawan’s team (Architectural Design) and Prof. Wanga Zuo’s team (Architectural Engineering) in Makassar.

The team involved master and doctorate students in the development of Green Alley in order to initiate the application of renewable energy that supports urban farming and waste management. This research was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Department of State, US. In the future, this research opens up opportunities to be expanded into interdisciplinary research involving the fields of planning and engineering at SAPPD and ITB.
